 Question Number 0755 Question: A young boy with hepatosplenomegaly has severe collapse of the right femoral head requiring replacement. The removed femoral head marrow is found to be packed with abnormal macrophages containing glucocerebroside. The pathologist explains that these cells are the likely cause of the patient's femoral head collapse by causing intra-osseous venous occlusion. A likely aetiology is: a) Gaucher's disease b) missed fracture c) Cushing's disease d) radiation e) vasculitis
