 Question Number 0726 Question: A 22 year old insulin dependent diabetic with a history of poor compliance with treatment is admitted to the Casualty Department with polydipsia and weakness. Investigations reveal hyperglycemia (17mmol/l), ketonuria and acidodis. His osmolality is elevated (over 340 mosm/L) and the Na concentration is elevated above 150. He appears slightly dehydrated.
