 Question Number 0522 Question: 65 year old complains ofa change in bowel habit. On examination he is found to have generalised lymphadenopathy. On colonoscopy he is found to have a large lymphnodes in Waldeyer's Ring. These are biopsied. The histology demonstrates expansion of the zone surrounding the normal germinal centers. This area of the lymph node has a homogeneous population of malignant small lymphoid cells with slightly irregular nuclear outlines and scant cytoplasm. The lymphoid follicles, germinal centers, and parafollicular zones appear normal. This appearance is characteristic of a) mantle cell lymphoma b) infectious lymphocytosis c) Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia d) chronic myelogenous leukemia e) chronic lymphoblastic leukemia
