Reiter's syndrome presents with a triad of urethritis, conjunctivitis, and a seronegative arthritis. A typical patient is a young man with recurrent non-specific urethritis. It may also follow dysentery. It is often a large joint mono- or oligoarthritis.  Iritis, keratoderma blenorrhagica [brown, aseptic abscesses on the soles and palms], mouth ulcers, circinate balanitis, enthesopathy [plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis] and aortic incompetence [rare] can also occur. Tests: Neutrophils and Macrophages containing neutrophils [Peking cells] are found in synovial fluid. Management includes rest, splints and NSAIDs. HLA-B27 antigen is present in over 70% of cases and sacroilitis may be present
